In order to encourage marine stakeholders’ involvement in the project, a Best Practice Guide is being prepared. The document will address scientific, technical and administrative issues associated with stakeholders’ involvement in marine surveillance and monitoring, particularly SMEs’. It will include examples of policies, organisations, infrastructures, projects or tools, which have produced good results and can be shared, replicated or adapted to similar objectives in other regions/organisations. It will also contain benchmark case studies, real life realizations or “success story”, that illustrate what can be achieved in the field of marine surveillance by the successful collaboration between the research sector and industry.
